Meet Evie

I just joined the Student Leadership Team, and I love it because we get to help lead the fun. From picking out the books we read to helping with in-person meetings, it's so fun and great for meeting new people.

Evie joined Durham Book Club's Student Leadership Team in 2023 and is currently a part of the Marketing Team, helping out with the website, and the Planning Team.

Enjoy!  A Very Squirrely Birthday By Caroline M Chapter 1 : A Birthday Morning Hi, my name is Caroline and today is my eleventh birthday.    I woke up to see 3 presents on the floor. Excited, I quickly scrambled out of bed to open the presents on the floor. The smallest present was a purse with a leather strap. In the next box was some squirrel feed. I quickly ripped open the biggest present, and inside it was a squirrel hoodie that seemed to have a soft glow to it. We are so proud to publish the work of middle school students in Durham, NC.  Follow along as we post the rest of The Dragon by Jasleen, one of our Student Leaders.  The Dragon by Jasleen     Prologue :  The Attack The sun and breeze feels so good on my face.   I thought.  It reminds me of  a perfect summer day, Lilly playing and me relaxing.  Suddenly the sky went dark and I looked up.  Oh no, it’s back! “Rose, go grab your sister before the dragon gets her,” Mom yelled. I ran as fast as I could but when I was a few meters away the dragon swooped and grabbed her. “No,” I screamed, “Lilly!” She can’t be gone, this is all a dream!
