A Very Squirrely Honeymoon

Prologue

We had a squirrel court the day after the wedding and decided Ares would have 2 weeks of house arrest. Storm and India headed off on their honeymoon the next day, relieved of any worries of Ares messing up their honeymoon.

Chapter 1: Not So Happy Travels  

Bye! Everyone said as we watched Storm and India go down the creek for their honeymoon trip. See you in 2 weeks! They called back. As they disappeared from view, we all walked back home. But, Me and the twins headed to the office which is now a hangout. Boy, have these past few days been crazy! Lumin said, flopping into a chair. Yeah, and I had to get my dress cleaned there was so much cake in it! I said laughing. “And the look on Ares’ face when I threw cake at him!” Said Lumi. “I got frosting on my tail in the food fight and there’s still some left.” Lumin humphed. “Lighten up.” Lumi said, “We totally got payback on Ares with the food fight.” Calm down you two! I said chuckling. I have to go check on Ares now. I walked to Ares’ house and opened the door. Ares! I called. There was no response. Ares? I called again. Oh boy, I sighed. I called the twins and said, We have a code Houdini!

Chapter 2 : Code Houdini!

“WHAT!?” the twins yelled through the phone. “Are you sure?” Lumin asked. Yes, I’m sure i’ve checked his whole house. I said. “Should we tell the two love-birds?” Lumi asked. No, I don’t want their honeymoon to be ruined too. I said. Let’s grab Major and Olive so we can decide what to do about this. “Agreed.” the twins said. I called Major and Olive and told them to come the hangout. We arrived a minute later, panting. Major, I addressed him, you’re best with battle tactics so what is the plan? “Boats and the element of suprise.” He replied. Lumi, I said turning to her, you know Ares well so, what do you think his tactic will be? “Tripwire triggers, camoed prank traps, and glitter bombs. She shuddered at that last one, we all did. Olive, I looked at her, we don’t want to alert him so we will have to ditch the boat eventually, then continue on foot, which way though? She thought for a second then said, “The dense trees.” Ok, I said, we have a plan now let’s get going.

Chapter 3 : When we didn’t think of thinking ahead

I grabbed one of the boats and ran to the creek where the others were waiting. We all hopped in and sped across the water. We stopped a decent distance away from where we went camping (which is where the honeymoon is). We scrambled out and into the trees but there was one problem, there was netting blocking the way up into the top of the trees! Gah, Ares! I said in frustration. “Now this leaves the ground, which is probably rigged with pranks!”, Lumi said, “Why didn’t I think of this!” It’s okay Lumi, no one expected this. I said, trying to calm her down so she didn’t give away our location. We kept moving and managed to avoid most of the pranks. As we reached the campsite, we saw a terrified India clinging to a very annoyed Storm with Ares standing a few feet away from us holding a rope. “One more step and your little friends get glittered.” Ares said with a look daring us to do exactly that. “Ares, drop the rope now.” Major said glaring at him. “How about, NO!” Ares said and pulled the rope. Olive, Lumin, NOW! I yelled and they threw some of the extra netting Ares had left on the ground. It landed over India and Storm, stopping the glitter from coating them. “WHA, WHAT!?” Ares yelled, clenching his fists. He looked at us and smirked. “You really think that can stop me?” 20 more ropes dropped down around him. “Not this again!” Lumin squeaked. 

Chapter 4 : Ambushed!

Run for cover! I yelled and ran for the rock overhang. “Nice try.” Ares said and pulled a rope. Glitter and sap fell on me. Seriously! I said but it sounded like mhhmhhmhh because of the sap blocking my mouth. Major ran for a hollow tree and he was showered with silly string and glitter. “Please, try harder.” Ares said with sarcasm. Olive and Lumi ran for the bushes and were welcomed with an explosion of some blue goo and glitter. “There’s no hiding from me.” Ares said smirking. Oh no, the messed up slime experiment! I thought. It’s super sticky! Aaand, that leaves Lumin to stop Ares. Oh great. Surprisingly, instead of hiding, Lumin was still standing where he was and he was fuming.

Chapter 5 : What you didn’t know about Lumin

Oh, he’s in for it now! I thought. What you didn’t know about Lumin is that he has a Donald Duck side so, when he’s mad, he’s mad. “Everything you’ve done to me and my friends, it hurts Ares. Why do you have to do this just because you’re bored and lonely? I’m so tired of this!” Lumin squeaked out, then charged at Ares and tackled him. “WHAT THE HECK LUMIN!?” Ares yelled as Lumin tied Ares up with one of the ropes that had already been pulled. “Yeah go Lumin!” Major yelled from where he was stuck. “Can you free us now though?” Olive asked from the bushes where she and Lumi were stuck. “Oh, right sorry.” Lumin said as he finished tying Ares and gave him a push so he would spin around on the rope. “Hey!” Ares squeaked in protest as he spun around.

Chapter 6 : The Confession

Lumin pulled the netting off of Storm and India, then they all grabbed water from the creek and started dousing us with it. Lumin freed me, Storm freed Major, and India freed Lumi and Olive. “We’re free!” We cried as the last of us were unstuck. “What about Ares?” Lumi asked as Ares spun by grumbling. “Eh, let’s cut him down and bring him with us.” Major said, Storm humphed at the idea. Major pulled out a multi-tool and cut him down. “I’ll pull him!” Lumi volunteered. Ok, I said with a shrug. As we reached the boat it dawned on me that we didn't have enough boats for seven people. Storm had the same idea and said, “Someone needs to stay behind with Ares because we don’t have enough room.” Lumi volunteered again. As the rest of us sailed back, Lumi turn to Ares. She stared at him hard then said, “I like you.” “I’m sorry what?” Ares said blushing. “I said I like you.” She said rolling her eyes. “I-I like you too Lumi.” Ares stammered and smiled. At that moment I arrived. What is going on here you two? I questioned when I saw them blushing at each other. Did you finally confess to each other? “Yes?” Lumi said blushing harder. I laughed and said, Get on the boat already then!
